Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Why is your camp more expensive than others?
A: After you break it down you will see that it is very comparable to other camps. Our base package (commuter) is $600. The other packages simply factor in the cost of hotel. With our staff, training, and potential opportunity for placement, you can’t beat the price!
Q: What leagues will be represented at the 2019 camp?
A: At this time the American Association, Can-Am League, and the Atlantic League will all be represented at the camp.
Q: What are my chances of getting assigned to one of these leagues?
A: There are no guarantees. But with multiple leagues attending the camp, if you're able to work they will find a spot for you.
Q: If I’m going back to umpire school how will working the “three-umpire system” help me?
A: Well for starters the “three-umpire system” builds off of the “two-umpire system”. So there are many times that you will still be using the “two-umpire system”. You will find that once you have worked the three-umpire system, reverting back to two umpires will be a very easy transition.
Q: What if I can’t afford to pay for the camp ahead of time?
A: That's okay, we ask a deposit, and then you can pay the rest at the start of the camp. All balances must be paid prior to the start of camp. If you have any questions please contact Rich Grassa regarding this matter.
Q: Is there a cap on enrollment and what is the deadline to register?
A: Yes, this year cap will be at 70 umpires!
Q: What should I bring?
A: Required items to bring: All of your umpire gear, rule book, and baseball glove (for camp games).
