What We Offer
Pro Umpire Camp is not just another camp. From the beginning, this has been designed as a tryout camp offering students a chance to showcase their skills in front of league supervisors. As the camp has grown it has seen an increase in students with aspirations of only improving their umpiring knowledge. While not all the students attending the camp may not be interesting in a job, there are students that are competing with each other for jobs in different leagues around the country.
Regardless of each student's goal, everyone will be given the opportunity to learn and increase their knowledge of the current three umpire system used in Minor League Baseball. The classroom curriculum is taught by current Triple and Double A umpires. The field curriculum is lead by Triple A umpires and taught by current Minor League Umpires who have worked the three umpire system as taught in the classroom.
Each student will receive:
30 hours of classroom and field instruction
Video Analysis of prior day's field work
Cage Work
Work a minimum of 4 live games (pending weather)
During the camp students will be provided with accommodations ranging from travel, food, water, gatorade, snacks, and much more! There will be one evening where the students and staff will have a BBQ hosted by sponsors with food and drinks provided. This is a great chance to get to know the staff and meet prospective employers.
Pro Umpire Camp is a great opportunity for all umpires to learn and be seen, regardless of your aspirations. If you want to travel the country umpiring or just want to get better, this camp is for you!
